Hi Apple buffs! (And hi to the non-Apple buffs as well I guess)
I have a question for you today.
What, you ask?
It is this – Do you know how to change iTunes Account on your Apple devices (Whether it be an iPhone, iPod, or an iPod Touch)?
If you do, then congratulations! You should read this for more information and other important things now.
But wait… is everyone really so lucky? (And am I really so unfortunate that no one wants to read what I took so much pain to write?)
This article is for those of you who actually do not know the answer to my above-posed question –How do you change your iTunes Account on your iPhone, your iPad or your iPod Touch?
It is pretty simple really. You do not need to worry so much about it.
Now if you have absolutely no idea, let me start off by making things clear… err, clearer (since I was talking in pretty straight forward and simple English up till now anyway).
Change iTunes account settings on your Apple device – whether your device is an iPhone, an iPad, or an iPod Touch –basically means logging in to your Apple device (i.e., your iPhone, your iPad or your iPod Touch) with a different Apple ID.
Now, a foremost pre-requisite for this matter is a secondary Apple ID. If you have one, or are using a friend’s Apple ID, that is fine. If you do not have a secondary one, you have to create an Apple ID. How?
Follow these simple steps:
Once you have visited the app store, you will be required to sign in. Do so. Now, you are required to download a song or a video or even an app to be able to go forward with the process of creating an Apple ID.
Select something you want to download. This could be anything, it doesn’t really matter.
Once you have selected the item you wish to download, you will find a button with “Free” written on it. This is the “Free” button. Tap the “Free” button. After you have tapped the “Free” button, it will then morph itself into an “Install” button.
To start the download, tap this install button.
A smaller, whiter, brighter window will pop up on your screen. It will have a list of options. Here you will be asked to select an option. Select “Create New Apple ID.”
You are now required to choose your country of origin. The list of all the countries will appear on your screen. Choose your country from the list on options. Then click “Next” to continue.
You are now required to agree to the terms of service that Apple wishes to provide. Tap “Agree” twice in order to do this successfully.
[P.S. Do not forget to read the Terms of Service provided. On that unlucky off-chance that you do not agree to a term, you don’t want to accept it. However, this also means that you don’t get your Apple ID.]
You will now be asked to enter a lot of personal information – email ID, date of birth, name, etc. Entering wrong and invalid information is not going to help you because you will not be able to confirm your identity to Apple later. This means, that you will not be able to access the ID you have created and it will be defunct.
You will be asked for a payment method. Choose the option “None” if you do not wish to provide your credit card details. You will also be asked to provide a billing address.
You will now receive a confirmation email on the email ID you have just provided. Click on the link provided to verify your email ID. You are required to sign in once more with your newly created Apple ID. And you’re done.
Now that you have a secondary ID, let us move on to how you can change you logged in Apple ID on your device.
Go to Settings and Sign out of the Apple ID that you are logged into your Apple device with.
You basically have to sign in with that secondary Apple ID you just created. Do so and you are done.
